Operation of South Acres Fields

South Acres Fields is operated by South Acres Leisure Ltd.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all South Acres Fields sites. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and our Field Rules.

Nature of Your Booking

When you book a South Acres field, you are granted a temporary licence to use the booked field for the duration of your session, subject to these Terms & Conditions and our Field Rules.

You use the field as a licensee. Your booking does not create a tenancy or give you any right or interest in the land beyond permission to use the booked field during your allocated session.

Your licence:

  • applies only to the field, date and time booked;
  • is for the duration of the booked session only;
  • is subject to these Terms & Conditions and our Field Rules; and
  • is personal to the person making the booking and cannot be transferred, assigned, sold or given to another person.

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that everyone attending as part of their booking complies with these Terms & Conditions and our Field Rules.

Prices

Unless otherwise stated, prices are for a 50-minute session for up to three dogs.

Darlington Site (Roundhill Road Hurworth)

Adventure Field:

  • Monday to Friday: £14
  • Saturday & Sunday: £16

Training Field:

  • Monday to Friday: £10
  • Saturday & Sunday: £11

Play Field

  • Monday to Friday: £10
  • Saturday & Sunday: £11

Thirsk Site (Stockton Road, South Kilvington, Thirsk)

    • Monday to Friday: £14
    • Saturday and Sunday: £15

Dog Barn Site (Staindrop Road Darlington)

  • The Dog Barn Field £15 per session**

**The Dog Barn Site is open 6 to 9pm Monday to Friday and 6am to 9pm Saturday and Sunday (outside of Doggy Day Care opening hours).

Durham Coast (Mickle Hill Road, Hesleden)

  • Wear Field £12
  • Tees Field £14

Easingwold (Ladycarr Lane, Easingwold)

  • Caste View Field £15
  • Castle Grounds Field £11 for 50 minutes or £7.50 for 25 minutes.

Where applicable, an additional charge of £2 per dog applies for each dog over the first three.

The maximum number of dogs permitted in a booking is 7 dogs, unless otherwise stated for a particular field.

Prices may vary between sites, fields, days and session lengths. The price displayed on our booking system at the time of booking is the price payable for your session.

Opening Times & Payment

  • Our fields are generally open 7 days a week, although opening hours vary by site and time of year.
  • Fields may occasionally be closed for maintenance, adverse weather, safety reasons or other circumstances.
  • All bookings must be made through the South Acres Fields website.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Your booking applies only to the field, date and time shown in your booking confirmation.
  • Bookings and sessions are not transferable or assignable to another person without the permission of South Acres Fields.

Changing a Booking

  • Bookings may be changed up to 24 hours before the scheduled start of your session.
  • Changes should be made using the appropriate link in your booking confirmation email.
  • Bookings cannot be changed within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.
  • Changing a booking does not allow the booking to be transferred or assigned to another person.
  • If you arrive late, your session will still finish at the originally booked time and cannot be extended.
  • If you miss your session, it cannot be rescheduled and no refund will be provided.
  • We do not allow cancellations or provide refunds.

Arriving & Leaving

  • Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your booked session.
  • Remain in your vehicle until the previous users have finished and safely secured their dogs.
  • Do not enter the secure field before your booked session begins.
  • Keep dogs on lead until safely inside the secure field and the gate is fully closed.
  • Dogs must remain on lead whenever they are outside the secure field.
  • Dogs must not be exercised outside the secure field.
  • Your dog(s) must be safely secured back in your vehicle before your booked session ends.
  • Please leave promptly so the next customer can begin their session safely.

Parking & Vehicles

  • Only park in the designated parking areas at the site you are visiting.
  • Do not park on grassed areas unless specifically designated for parking.
  • Take care when entering and leaving our sites and be considerate of other customers, neighbours and road users.
  • Vehicles and their contents are left on site at the owner’s risk.

Health, Safety & Care of the Fields

  • You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety, control and behaviour of your dog(s).
  • Dogs should be up to date with appropriate vaccinations and worming treatments.
  • Dogs showing signs of illness must not use our fields. Please wait at least 7 days after symptoms have completely ceased before returning.
  • All dog poo must be picked up, placed in a biodegradable poo bag and disposed of in the designated poo bins.
  • If you notice missed poo, please pick it up if you can. Please report excessive amounts so we can identify and act against repeat offenders.
  • General rubbish should be placed in the bins provided.
  • Do not allow dogs to dig or damage the field, fencing, gates or equipment.
  • Please fill any holes where possible and report any damage or hazards.
  • If you notice damage to a fence or gate that could allow a dog to escape, keep your dog on lead and contact us immediately.
  • Ground conditions may be uneven, wet, muddy, slippery or frozen. Please wear appropriate footwear and take care.
  • Do not climb on fences, gates or dog equipment.
  • Children must be always supervised by a responsible adult.
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted within the secure fields.
  • Please take all toys, belongings and rubbish with you when you leave.

Dogs & Behaviour

  • You are responsible for your dog(s) and their behaviour throughout your visit.
  • Dogs must not be left unattended.
  • The number of dogs using the field must not exceed the number included in your booking.
  • Harsh or inappropriate handling of dogs is not permitted.
  • Electric collars must not be used on our sites.
  • Customers must treat other users, staff, neighbours and our sites with respect.
  • Aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff, other customers or dogs will not be tolerated.
  • Dogs subject to legal restrictions must be managed in accordance with all current legal requirements.
  • Professional dog walkers and dog trainers should contact us before making their first booking.

Field Security

Customers are responsible for checking that the field and entrance gate are secure and suitable for their dog before allowing them off lead.

Always make sure the entrance gate is fully closed and secured before releasing your dog.

If you discover damage to a gate, fence or boundary that could allow a dog to escape, do not release your dog and contact us immediately.

Maintenance & Closures

South Acres Fields reserves the right to close a field or site, when necessary, due to maintenance, weather conditions, safety concerns or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If we must cancel your booking because the field is unavailable, we will offer an appropriate reschedule, credit or refund.

Refusal of Use

South Acres Fields reserves the right, at its discretion, to refuse, suspend or withdraw access to any of our fields or sites, or to refuse future bookings from any person, where we consider it appropriate to do so, subject to applicable law.

This may include, but is not limited to, circumstances where a customer:

  • breaches these Terms & Conditions or our Field Rules;
  • behaves in an unsafe or inappropriate manner;
  • places another person, dog or property at risk;
  • causes or permits damage to a field, gate, fence or equipment;
  • repeatedly fails to pick up after their dog;
  • behaves aggressively, abusively or threateningly towards staff, other customers or dogs; or
  • uses our fields or booking system in a way that we consider inappropriate or contrary to the safe and proper operation of South Acres Fields.

We may exercise this right whether the circumstances are specifically listed above.

Where access is refused, suspended or withdrawn, South Acres Fields may also prevent the individual from making future bookings, subject to applicable law.

Disclaimer

Use of South Acres Fields is subject to these Terms & Conditions and our Field Rules and is at the user’s own risk.

Customers are responsible for supervising and controlling their dogs and deciding whether the field, ground conditions and any equipment are suitable for themselves and their dogs.

South Acres Leisure Ltd. accepts no responsibility for injury, loss or damage except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Vehicles and their contents are left on site at the owner’s risk.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Privacy & Data

Personal information collected by South Acres Leisure Ltd. will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
